About

Melody Ming-Chen Wu is a Taiwanese artist and designer whose interdisciplinary practice spans weaving, illustration, and printmaking. She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she studied Visual Communication Design and Fiber & Material Studies. Her work draws on both traditional techniques and contemporary sensibilities, often rooted in slow, process-driven methods.

Wu explores themes of belonging, liminality, and emotional tension through tactile processes and narrative structures, using repetition and form as a means to reflect, resist, and remember. Influenced by language, philosophy, and nature, her work seeks quiet forms of expression that linger between the personal and the universal.

Based in Taipei, she continues to develop a body of work that values stillness, care, and the intimacy of making.
